I love TRX. Like I cannot express to you how much I LOVE TRX. After all my years of running and my body staying the same I finally found a workout that was fun, challenging, easy on the joints and gave me the muscle definition I was looking for without spending hours in the gym. I could get a total body workout in as little as 45 minutes. Boom! Before I go any further let me give you a little background. I ran all the time. I was obsessed with running. I wasn't fast or anything but I loved it. I would run six or seven days a week. Sometimes a short run of 4 miles or longer miles if I was training for a race. I did a few 1/2 marathons and one marathon. (Never again..it sucked). I had an amazing running group. We held each other accountable and we started most mornings at either 4:45 or 5am. I was committed. That went on for about 12 years and then I started to experience pain in my back. My back pain was largely due to no core strength because all I did was run..no strength training! Finally after many months of suffering (and most days I thought my family would just leave because I was such a bitch) and not running I had to have surgery to repair my L5 disk. UGH! It sucked. I was out for another 6 weeks and luckily I've had a full recovery. So, there I was, looking for something that would get me back in the game without high impact on my joints. I tried my first TRX class at our local YMCA and BAM! I was hooked. I went to class every day, learned how to challenge my body, used my core in every move and within a few weeks I could see a difference. Yes, I was teaching barre and working out at home but TRX was different. I can't explain it to you unless you take a class. You will love it and hate it at the same time. It will make you scream FUCK and wonder "why did I ever sign up for this shit?". I then decided to get my certifications and now I have 4 TRX certifications. Like I said.. I fucking LOVE it!
Training clients on TRX is a different story. OMG! The bitching and moaning that goes on. You have no idea how hard I have to control my eye rolling and sarcastic comments. Wait, that must be someone else because I don't control it. LOL! But guess what? They keep coming back and they love it too! The workout is always different each class so you never get bored. With TRX you can change the angle of your body to make the exercises a little more challenging and since you are suspended you are developing a rock hard solid core. I mean come on..if the four branches of the US military use it to train so can we!
